Dr Taylor qualified as a doctor in the UK in 2009. After completing her initial hospital training, she pursued a career in psychiatry and successfully completed the Membership examinations of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Through this experience, she developed a strong foundation in mental health care before recognising that general practice, with its breadth, complexity, and continuity of care, was better suited to her clinical interests.
Dr Taylor undertook further training in the UK and qualified as a General Practitioner in 2020. Alongside her work in the UK’s National Health Service, she has gained a broad range of clinical experience, including work on remote scientific expeditions, in small island communities, in correctional settings, and with asylum seekers.
She brings her background in mental health into her general practice work, recognising the close relationship between physical and psychological wellbeing. Dr Taylor also enjoys managing chronic health conditions and supporting women’s health, including care related to menopause.
Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and scuba diving and is looking forward to exploring Queensland.
