Dr Hitchin is an experienced GP and has been practicing medicine for over 16 years, including over 5 years in Australia. He feels a connection to Caboolture and has chosen to return to serve the community he has had the pleasure of getting to know.

He also has experience overseas in the UK, US and others. He enjoys all aspects of general practice and has worked in many specialities, including time as an armed forces medical officer, which he is continuing in the ADF Reserves.

He has special interests in diagnostic medicine, chronic disease management, infectious diseases and sports medicine. He tries as best he can to practice holistic medicine. He enjoys caring for veterans and their families. He considers himself a lifelong student and never stops trying to learn something new. He is currently doing a masters degree in tropical medicine and public health. Dr Hitchin is also fluent in Spanish.

He is married with 4 young active kids and enjoys boxing, trying to stay fit and reading, especially history and psychology.
